Point-In-Time Medicaid Enrollment Numbers
HHSC changed its naming convention for the Medicaid enrollment files effective April 2006. Files for December 2005 through March 2006 were originally crated under the old system. For example, the file named, Certified Eligibles for 12-2005 (November 2005 cutoff), when opened, includes the header November 2005 Texas Medicaid – Total Enrollment. When HHSC updates its online Medicaid statistics, the numbers they currently (as of 10/2006) have posted as “October 2005” will presumably be re-named “Certified Eligibles for 11-2005” (October 2005 cutoff), and so forth.
We apologize for any confusion this creates. This change in naming of Medicaid data makes the Medicaid enrollment file names consistent with CHIP enrollment file names.
